Been a while since I made a thread such as this one… sort of discussing the state of the game, problems I have seen, or corrective actions to take, but I figured it was pretty necessary after the very recent actions taken on my discord and in-game accounts. Let’s dive in, shall we?
This game must be on life support, right? You have, potentially, in-game mod(s) colluding with hackers, illegal traders, and ban evaders (and RetNos, I am allowed to say this per the forum’s rules; this isn’t hostile, rather informative/speculation). You have dupers, you have casinos, and you have players every day advertising very vulgar subjects constantly in the Global Messages. But they aren’t punished? I would love to run a case study on this all, and I imagine that 99/100 times you report someone doing something wrong, they will never face consequences. Sure, I get it, mods are busy, but that busy? No. Relieve them and get new ones, honestly.
I won’t discuss in detail the recent bans on my discord and in-game accounts, but they were incorrect or unfair. The discord one cited improper/incorrect references to the server rules (I 100% broke a rule [not 3] and faced a strike, just didn’t realize what my strike count was and have yet to hear back from PW Appeals 8 days later), and the in-game one was not against the rules at all (this was an in-game mod purely acting off of emotions rather than in reference to the in-game rules; take this as constructive criticism, please). And if I sent an email about any of this at all to support, it would likely go unread, or no further actions would ever be taken to correct these measures in the future. Support is there to promote positive change or future counter measures for issues such as these, but with so many players never receiving responses, why have it at all? If it isn’t worth the time to the admins, then don’t offer it and move on.
This is a genuine stain on my reputation… no warnings in 7 years, no strikes in 4 years, and never an in-game ban in the entire time I’ve played, but when someone starts to question a certain in-game mod… you know the rest. I’ve always been present here to inform and help, and this isn’t the community I came into the game with anymore, which has made for adjustments, but I don’t want to give up, not yet… something needs to give. I don’t know how much I can take of this current state of the game anymore.
For any mods or admins that do happen to check the forum, I’d love to talk about any of this with you; there doesn’t seem to be too much of that sort of communication anymore, but I think my voice should be heard a bit louder here.
