Hello everyone. You may know me. You may not. Either way, knowing who I am or my history in Pixel Worlds isn’t very important. What it’s important however, is the fact that I have been absent for 2 years. And the consequences my absence had on a project I hosted a while back.
Over 2 years ago, in May of 2022, I held an event I dubbed the “Forumer Memorial Project” as my final goodbye as an active member of the game and community. I won’t go into the specifics of the project, but if you’re not aware of it and would like to inform yourself, I’ll leave some links at the bottom of this post to the threads affiliated with the project.
The reason I am making this post however, is because I made a mistake. Before logging out of the game for the final time for over 2 years (aside from a yearly login to stop my worlds from decaying), I forgot to remove the locks on each of the rooms. This resulted in the hard work of everyone associated with the project being destroyed, and the overall legacy of the forum community that the project was meant to encapsulate being tarnished.
And for that, I cannot express enough how sorry I am. Especially to the people that helped put the project together. @RetNos @Logan @Fazeus @Tumppi2 I know how hard everyone worked to make it happen. My ignorance put that hard work to shame. I’m very sorry. Really, truly I am. It hurt revisiting the world and seeing the damage done.
On a lighter note, tomorrow I will use the screenshots from the project’s completion to begin rebuilding what was lost. It may take some time, but I feel it will be worth it. And I feel I owe it to those involved. You all worked very hard on your rooms (well… almost all of you) and in contacting long-retired players to come back for one final hoo-rah.
While the blocks can be replaced and rooms rebuilt, the memories left on signs and in guestbooks are forever gone. That, to me, is the worst part. I have no record of what was held in those messages and the players who originally left them are likely long gone. That is a consequence that cannot be mended.
This project was very important to me, as I know it was for a lot of people who joined it. And I plan to do everything in my power to restore it to its original glory so that it may once again be visited and enjoyed as a piece of Pixel Worlds history, as it was meant to.
Again, I’m sorry. And it’s good to see you all again. Happy Summer.
